The National Pension Service (NPS) is seeking two compliance monitoring managers in its compliance division, one for legal advisory category and the other for management monitoring category, industry sources said on Tuesday.

The pension fund changed the structure of its compliance division in December 2020 as part of efforts to enhance its compliance monitoring system. It newly added three teams under the division and decided to increase headcounts. The number of fund managers in the compliance division increased to 16 from eight.

For the legal advisory category, applicants must have at least three years of legal or investment experience as a foreign or domestic attorney.

The successful candidate will be in charge of reviewing domestic and foreign contracts and legal issues related to fund management, reviewing revised laws, and analyzing the impact on the NPS. In addition, he or she will give legal advices on the establishment of the internal control system and review the legal conformity of regulations related to internal controls.

Applicants for the compliance category must have at least three years of investment experience in domestic or overseas financial institutions or pension funds.

The successful candidate will review the compliance of a committee’s deliberation and resolutions related to fund management, review the laws and guidelines related to fund management, inspect asset storage and management system, and inspect details on portfolio management.

The contract period is three years, with a possible extension. (Reporting by Hee-yeon Han)
